SBA Daily July 26, 2017
Region 2
NEW YORK, NEW
YORK
Dutchess County,
New York: 26,000 small businesses; 96,000 employees; $4.3 billion in annual
payroll. This northern county in the New York District borders the state of
Connecticut on the east and Columbia County, NY, to the north. On Monday, July
24, 2017, NYDO EDS Man-Li Lin coordinated a Marketing Roundtable with business
owners, media personnel and government representatives in Pawling, the cultural
hub of Dutchess county. One business owner shared about her difficulties
transitioning from a home-based to brick-and-mortar company. Another business
owner sold sheds, which, she said, are often a once-in-a-lifetime purchase; her
ask of the roundtable was for suggestions on how to increase and diversify her
business. Near the end of the meeting, Lin told the group about SBA’s services
to support small businesses.
Thanks for Bailie's photos
