2017-08-29 接送我去洋克市 A memorable Ride to Yonkers

I could not go to Yonkers and Jennifer planned to cover for me

Mike Keating, Instructor of the Emerging Leaders Yonkers Class, said that

he would give me a ride to/from my home in Brooklyn

I was so touched by his offer, and I accepted it because I knew he was sincere

It rained

I went to the physical therapy 12pm appointment and came back around 1:10pm

Mike arrived at 2pm, in the rain

It was a long ride from Brooklyn to Yonkers, especially we are looking for DD

It was amazing that he finally saw a DD at the corner before turning to the West Highway

"Persistence is the key", he said

We arrived around 4pm

I was so sorry that I could not even help Mike set up the classroom because of my injuried ankle

He set up everything after the 4-hour driving, and

started teaching the class

 I had to elevate my swollen ankle

 After 3 hours teaching

 8:00pm Thanks to Laura for visting the class from Boston

9: 20pm Mike's smile after driving me back to Brooklyn in the rain

and he had to drive back.

I walked into my apartment with tears

He is the typical American that I thought Americans were when I came to US

A man of dignity, pride and compassion

She is so sweet and strong

I bought green tea cake for her whenever I went to Flushing

and she always told me stop spending money on her

I pray that she will come back soon for her favorite green tea cake

I spoke at the USPS "Grow Your Business Expo"

at Brooklyn Processing and Distribution Center

 It was nice to meet Maria Elena, Jupiter Car Service

She is such a positive, happy and spiritual lady

 The first thing she said to me is about our gray hair,

then her story as a small business owner twice,

and then her choice to be a happy person after her two sons graduated from colleges,

working three days, volunteering two days, Sat for her church and Sun for her family

She is a strong and smart lady

 I walked with crutchers

and I didn't realize this will be a long, long walk after I got to the 2nd floor

I have learned about the USPS's services for the business commmunity

I changed my presentatiion title from "How to Start a Business" to "How SBA Can Help You"

because most of the attendees have started their businesses

I had to put an ice pack on my foot when I got home again
